Simthusiastic

Closed, I guess.

Well, to be completely honest…I’ve had a complete loss of interest in The Sims 2. You could probably tell by my lack of updating.

So, I guess this blog is closed, or to put it in better words, archived.

Thanks for all of the comments and feedback everyone! I really appreciate them. I’d also like to thank the people who link to this blog.

I’ve posted a Windspren update that I was working on before my legacy got messed up…it’s unfinished, has mediocre writing, and it’s kind of embarrassing, but I figured that I should do some sort of “Goodbye” thing after leaving you hanging for months.

Back in the Mainland

Since Natasha isn’t here today, I, Rachel, will be leading this update.

First of all, Marieve Windspren met Andrezj Phelps, AKA Mr. Big. I see that she’s made good friends with him…

New Ideas

I decided to play my Sims 2 game again, trying to build a house for a set of “Pancakes for Dinner”. It’s supposed to be freaky looking, but somehow ended up looking really nice. Then, I decided that, after lurking on a few Sim blogs, I would follow the cool trend of building a neighborhood. So I packaged the lot, moved it onto the new neighborhood, made a family, and moved them in. The name of the neighborhood is “Starfish Archipelago” - basically, the downtown, university, shopping district, etc. are all made up of islands. After all, an archipelago is a group of islands (according to the dictionary). It’s a pretty weird concept and if it was in the real world, it probably wouldn’t work but I like downloading island terrains, and I need to make use of them somehow.

Edit: I’ve added a few photos of some houses that I’ve built for the neighborhood. They’re on page two.

There’s a sneak peak after the jump:

Slow Inspiration

I don’t like writing these entries, but Simthusiastic stories may be on hold for a while. As it turns out, I’ve developed a new addiction to Final Fantasy games. I have no idea how it happened. I’ve played 7, 8, and 9, and have just started 10.

I also started a new chapter for “Pancakes for Dinner”, but I wasn’t very happy with where the story was going. So I decided to start that “new chapter” over. Don’t worry; the prologue will still remain intact. The story is just going to be different from what I expected.

Well, I hope that you all enjoy your summer!

Sneak Preview

Well, here’s a sneak preview of my new “story”. Of course, it’s one picture, but I’ll explain it.

Yes, it’s a BIG picture! I tend to stray away from those because a lot of the Wordpress themes can’t fit big pictures like these, but apparently this theme can. Sorry for the bad cutout of the Sim; it was my first time using the pen tool in Photoshop, and since I usually don’t do amazing things the first time I use something, this isn’t amazing. You can also see that her eyes are the default Maxis ones. I didn’t mean to do that…for some reason, Lilly has Maxis’ eyes. Grr. I’m going to have to find contacts to replace those now. I would also like to say sorry for the noobish looking text. I downloaded a truckload of fonts yesterday and decided to test them out.

Anyways, here’s Lilly. She’s the main character/protagonist of the story. She works as a hostess for a restaurant, and likes partying at nightclubs. Her life is relatively normal despite the preview image saying that it’s weird, until things get really weird, while getting ready to go to a party. I should stop there so I don’t spoil anything, and also so that I don’t run away from the computer thinking about it.

I can’t credit things in the background (it’s too blurry for me to tell), but Lilly’s eyes are supposed to be from Lyran 2.0, the skintone from the Samantha Pauline Sim by @Stefan, not sure where the lipstick is from, the hair comes from XM Sims if I’m not mistaken, and everything else is Maxis stuff that you can already find in your game.

Yes, Another “Informative” Entry

Yeah, this is another “informative” entry.

First of all, I’m going to try to make a horror story. Of course, that’ll only go through if I don’t scare myself and decide that the characters are too scary. It’s not that the characters are scary, it’s that ghosts, even if they don’t exist, scare me. Except for Casper. Yep, Casper’s a nice ghost. But anyways, just hope that I don’t scare myself while creating the ghost Sim and run away from my Sims 2 game. So, if I really don’t like ghost stories, why am I making one? To try to conquer my fear, and plus, I have a great storyline in my mind.

Second of all, the next update may be:
a) the last Windspren legacy post.
b) a Brooks legacy post.
c) a “preview” of the ghost story.
d) another boring, uninteresting, “informative” entry.

So, since it’s summer vacation for all of you (hopefully), enjoy it! Come to our beautiful state of Florida and enjoy the Sun. Just don’t enjoy it too much, or you’ll get sunburnt. Also, you should go and watch Pirates of the Carribean 3: At World’s End. Don’t listen to the negative reviews! If you can’t follow the storyline, just look at the action scenes! They’re absolutely amazing! By the way, if you decide to watch, there’s a scene after the credits, so if you care, stay for it.

To answer any questions you may have, I’ll answer a few. No, I’m not on drugs. No, I’m not drunk. Yes, I’m hyper because I just drank some coffee. Yes, I’m posting this at midnight, even though I need to wake up early. Yes, I liked PotC3 better than Shrek 3 or Spiderman 3. No, I didn’t stay for the end scene, but my friends did.

New Category

Well, err…it appears that I’ve killed Apple Island along with Ocean City also. Well, I guess I’ll have to dig up another hole in my graveyard of bugged/corrupted/glitched/don’t-feel-like-playing-anymore neighborhoods.

I saved Janelle’s face template thanks to the tutorial that Jen gave me on saving in-game face templates so I might just continue on with it with a few changes, but otherwise, “Apple Island” goes into the new, “Never Going to Finish” category. It’s quite a depressing category, really. Bleh, the only thing that I really kept going on with was my legacy family, and that’s gone too.

So, that being said, I have new ideas for stories, and just keep your fingers crossed that this one will stay well away from the “Never Going to Finish” category. ;)

P.S. Yes, this is one of many “informative”, somehow completely useless, and annoying entries. I don’t like them either.

Gaining by Losing

Well, since my legacy household got bugged up *sob*, “stay tuned” for the (probably) last post of the Windspren family. But I made a new legacy family. The founder’s name is Karia Brooks. It was originally going to be Anya Brooks, but I had Karia stuck in my head so I typed that in and didn’t notice until she gained a cooking point. Oh well, Karia’s a very nice name.

Karia lives in Riverblossom Hills, the new neighborhood that comes with Seasons. I don’t think that the rules for the legacy challenge (Seasons) are out yet, so I’ll do the legacy challenge the way that I would normally do it…just with Seasons, gardening, and all. Also, I won’t be playing for points this time; I’ll just try to go ten generations without cheating.

Okay, so enough of my babbling…
